Suggesting: League

Currently we are discussing in the chat that we want to have a league after a unsuccessful attempt at convincing people to do a "clan" concept. Now myself I do not know how to achieve this concept, so I am as hazed as you are folks.

Now there is another idea to do a League ontop of the Tournament we are doing, and this is easily done as we only host tournaments each every other week or monthly. It all depends how many signs up for this and it appears many others want to do a league concept, so here it is. The first thread for a suggestion... LEAGUE.


- Now how will this work to make it more appealing? We could do a 3v3 flat rules, but then we have to level our pokes beyond lvl 50 and they doesn't really work.

- Do we want to ban entry hazards so we can promote mono fire types, bug & ice? 'cause if we don't... Those types will be the bottom gym leaders and the others will be more superior.

- Because very often you will sit around with the same type of pokémon, you can be stalled if there is a counter to this specific type, now if you're a rock type user, you can be stalled by a specifc pokémon so we will have rules from our tournament applied to our league... - How will it work? For an example we can include only ONE legend as some specific types can include more legends than another and in which case has a bigger advantage over another and this will all be for testing purposes and as another thumb of rule, we can include a maximum of 8 pokémon to use against us... 2 pokémon to switch inbetween accordenly, but this is all to be discussed.

- What level requirement? Non restrictive? Or lvl 50?

- Will we have a sense of accomplishment? The main reason why nobody challenges leagues is because it is not very popular, nobody knows about it and finding it is very frustrating and a hard path to follow so there will be alot of advertisement for it, but what can we grant other than a nifty title and knowledge they are good at what they are doing? Well we can give out prizes like we give out prizes when somebody wins in a tournament. So basically each gym leader, E4 & Champion will provide a prize... What kind of prize? That largely depends on the player, but one idea is to give the victor the same pokémon as our signature pokémon. So if I were to have an Aggron, I will give a Aggron as a prize that is identical to the one I use. Cool idea, huh? That way we have a sense of accomplishment and if the individual beats us all, he/she will receive 15 pokémon in total as a maximum... Fully trained n' all.

and so i will suggest something, instead of having a default league with mono types, we could replace types with titles, like Volcano trainer,Desert guy and Beasts tamer, where they get to use Pokemon that are related to each other somehow but doesn't need to be having the same type.

That is an excellent idea... Instead of going for specific types, we can have a specific playstyle...

Now I wasn't refering to mono types, but 3 of the same type or 4 of the same type and have the rest as wild cards.
- Also as another idea.... Restrict the challengers to only have 2 or 3 of the type that will counter our specific types so they don't go "pure water against rock" for an example.
